About the University

On October 30, 1997, in the city of Omsk, the Omsk Humanitarian University (renamed as an institute in 2003) was established on the initiative of the Presidium of the Branch of the Academy of Humanitarian Sciences in Omsk, with the support of the Administration of the Omsk Region.

The university received its first license to carry out educational activities in the field of higher professional education in 1997, issued by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

In 2003, the university obtained state accreditation. As a result of state accreditation conducted in 2008, the institution was granted a new state status - academy.
